Apology

So I'm not sure who all reads this little blog of mine, but for those few who do, I'm sorry I totally skipped out on last week. I was sick thanks to the lovely Kentucky weather we've been having (fluctuating between 30 and 60 degrees). I'll be back later today with a real post. :) I hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Confessions

I'm not the girliest of girls, but when it comes down to it, I could probably spend a fortune on shoes. Thankfully, I know that my budget won't allow it so I don't go crazy very often at all. But, oh internet, how you tease me. Like these beauties I found via Pinterest on Casual Cutie
I mean, those shoes could go with anything and dress up a cute, casual outfit. Plus (another confession) I can't seem to resist anything sparkly. I should probably have opened with that since I'm sure this won't be the only pair of shoes you see with something shiny on them.
Ok, how cute are these? I wish you could see the entire shoe, but that stitching is super cute. I found them on the Truth Serum Blog.
Every girl needs a pair of boots, right? Well, I'd pick these out in a heartbeat. Thanks to Bees with Honey for finding them! And lastly, a pair that I would probably never wear simply because, despite my secret love of shoes, I can NOT walk very well in heels. So, here's a beautiful pair that will never see my feet!
BAM. I mean, come on! Those are some killer shoes! It's got everything a gorgeous shoe needs: a nice heel and gold sequins. Ok, maybe it's a little much with the sequins, but I already told you I have a problem with sparkly things!! That's it for now! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Anything goes...

Sorry about missing out on posting yesterday. It was a bit of a busy day! But hopefully today I can make it up to you. I've reserved Fridays to just be anything goes type of posts. So today, since I've been looking at jewelry online lately, I've decided to share some pictures and links to some pieces I love. This large pendant necklace from Forever 21
And this turquoise ring from Target
I love this sweet little ring I got my friend for Christmas
And these earrings, also from Etsy
This simple knot ring from Etsy
And last, this beautiful peacock bracelet
That's it for now! I'll be back later today with a post about shoes. :) So if you could spend WAY too much on shoes like me, check back in this afternoon!

The Geek in Me

Many of you who actually know me could probably safely say that I'm a geek. There are quite a few things that I enjoy that throw me into that category and each Wednesday I hope to blog about a few things to prove just that.

I recently (and finally) convinced my parents to start watching the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series. It is by far my favorite show and I knew they would enjoy it. So I thought I'd post a few still shots that I found on Hey Baby Hi. Enjoy!

I could post many, many more, but that'll do for now.

So say we all!

Girls in white dresses

I'm sure some of you noticed the URL of my blog contains part of a lyric from one of my favorite musicals. Good ol' Maria. I'm not sure if you can hear that song and not have a smile come to your face. Well, unless you're hearing the song at Christmas time. Does anybody know why that song gets played like crazy at Christmas nowadays? There's no mention of Christmas or anything.

I digress. Ahem. Sorry about that. I'm going to try to post to this twice a day during the week with the exception of Fridays where I'll just post once a day (unless I'm particularly bored). And I'm going to try, TRY, to post according to different themes each day. You know, just to keep it fresh and show you just how random my brain is. It's wildly eclectic, I tell ya.

Anyway, I've deemed Tuesday to be "Fashion Tuesdays." Now, let me preface this: I am not, by any means, claiming to have any sense of fashion whatsoever. I do not, ever, look at fashion blogs, like the kinds with the latest trends and what people thought of the latest thing on the runway. No. When I say fashion Tuesday, what I really mean is, "here are the clothes and things that you can wear that I like." You may in fact find that something I post on a Tuesday is rather unfashionable. I apologize in advance.

So, for my first official post on "Fashion Tuesday" and in honor of my URL, I give you the dresses I wish I could have (and afford). Not much room in the budget for cute dress buying these days, but a girl can dream, right? So, let's start it off with this lovely:

I found this lovely on Pinterest, thanks to Amy Allsop. I just love the green color, the design, the cute little sleeves, the length, the waistline. Ok, you get the idea, I love the whole dress.

Now for the fancy dress of the day in which I would never have occasion to wear. In honor of the recent Golden Globes, I give you the beautiful Gucci gown worn by Evan Rachel Wood:

I admit, I kinda have a thing for peacocks, so when I saw her dress on Glamour's Golden Globes Best Dressed list, I feel in love a little bit. It's tasteful and doesn't look like an actual bird. Like that horrible getup that Bjork wore. It's so bad it even got a Wikipedia article all to itself.

Well, that's it for today folks! What dresses have you seen lately that you've fallen in love with?

My little treasure box blog

I think I may have a small problem of starting blogs without really keeping up with them. However, I think I've hit upon an idea that I'll love to update constantly! I was rolling through some blogs I follow on various topics, and I realized it would be really cool for me to make a blog that incorporates all those things into one place. My little box of treasures. Pictures I like. Things I'd like to try and make. Movies and games I love. Basically, a little daily snapshot of who I am!

Most of you may not be interested in all the things that I am, but I hope that through this blog, we can discover new things and maybe just find that there's another person out there that enjoys the same things, be it kinda weird or generally accepted by the populace.

Enjoy!
